House as a small city. City as a large house.
A little about us, we have a dog (Stevie), cat
(Subi) and a bird (Boo). We like to live sustainably, please include skylight and a vegetable patch. Ash works from home at times, so an open planned office amongst our living area would be ideal. We have a king size bed which we would like to bring with us. We have some indoor pot plants. we would require some storage space.
Process
Study Building Code of Australia. Analyze site. Get to know clients & pets personally. Get to know built and natural environment.
Soften roof top for vegetation. Set back threshold, celebrate heritage facade. Hand craft the pillar of light and light wells. Includ watchmaking skills to allow building elements to accomodate the flow of light.

Design Brief
Dreaming of proposing a masterplan for Wooleen Station (half a million acres, 700km north of Perth).We met the owners, walked the land, attemped to understand the aboriginal history, and ascertain its current situation.
Process
We drove through the red sands, passed the wild nothingness under the scorching Australian sun. We slept on flat dry land, appreciated the sacredness of water, celebrated the vast bush land andclear blue skies and lived the aboriginal culture.
The recycled trusses are elevated to form a tower, allowing visual connection to the edge of the horizon, the nothingness beyond the nothingness under the clear blue sky.

Mega populace amalgamation
Design Brief
Urban Sprawl is a major issue in Perth. The dispersal of population causes strain to people of all ages and care facilities to get from one point to another, hence causing isolation for many.
Process
Studied the current isolation situation and approached the urban landscape as an urban fabric and pinch it upwards. Agglomerating cities, memories accumulated over a life time, urban components, healthcare facilities, commerce, and intensifying diversity.

Function
Urban Permeability and connectivity.
Design Brief
Located as a fulcrum fpcus point and standing as an indicator and an urban dispenser. A landmark for the heritage & port city.
Process
Forming a deep understanding of the heritage & port city, exploring its configurations and patterns with five sences. Embedding in the past and presence that definds this city, allows us to discover the future needs.
The structure was first viewed as a solid volumetric slab. Volumes were extruded to allow for visual permeability. Rotatiing and lifting the volume to create a focus point, drawing the populace upwards and dispersing them throughout Fremantle visually and physically. Compacting the side volumes to allow it to be better intergrated.

Function
House the study of Architecture while allowing the city's architecture to study the house.
Design Brief
To create a blurred vessel for the populace to interact in a soft manner between the diversly random urban context of North Bridge.
The blurred curve photovoltic skin not only generates power for the vessel but shades and cretes a soft and smooth dimensionless corner to emphsise the contrast of the ridgered city sturctures.
The urban carpet invites the populace to mingle in shade, and embedding them in the birth of architectural understanding and ideas.
Process
Studied North Bridge city, and celebrate the then pushed the city's envision beyond economical prosperity, cultural diversity and social success.
